The smell of sulphur lightly weaved itself into the surrounding air of the island. Just enough for the smell to be there, but not enough for it to be utterly unbearable. The ruins of Cinnabar Island was a place Green found himself more often than he probably should. In fact, Green seemed to spend more time here than in his actual gym - he tried to pass it off as 'taking a lunch break' or some other totally legitimate reason for not doing your job. The volcanic remains of Cinnabar really made him appreciate his life, but also made him really think about it fully in a way that he wouldn’t usually think. Thinking more about the bigger picture and what really mattered, and for once considering more than his usual shallow, petty goals of being some sort of celebrity trainer. No, here it was easier to think about other things.
But this sort of thinking was something Green could never keep up for long. The quiet of Cinnabar Island was interrupted when he heard footsteps nearby. The potential interaction with another trainer re-painted Green’s usual smirk. “If you’re lookin’ for the Cinnabar gym you’re in the wrong place, however…” He turned to look at the stranger. “If you’re looking for me, you’re in the right place.” And suddenly his superficial thoughts and ideals returned. Of course he would assume this person was here seeking him. Who wouldn’t be?
